Dr David Hewson

I have undergone training by Bond Solon on the duties of an expert witness including civil law and procedure, excellence in report writing, courtroom skills and cross examination. I was awarded the Cardiff University Civil Expert Witness Certificate in 2022. I accept instructions on breach of duty and causation in cases of alleged clinical negligence relating to my expertise as a consultant anaesthetist.
I am an Honorary Consultant Anaesthetist at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. I graduated with Distinction from Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ Medical School, University of London, in 2007 and commenced practice in anaesthesia in 2010. I was appointed a consultant in 2018. My clinical interests are nerve blocks, spinal and epidural anaesthesia, trauma and airway management, resuscitation, perioperative medicine and risk assessment.
I was appointed Associate Professor at the School of Medicine, University of Nottingham in 2022. I am experienced as a Chief and Co-Investigator in clinical trials investigating novel medical devices, the conduct and safety of nerve blocks and safe sedation practice.
My clinical interests are nerve blocks, spinal and epidural anaesthesia, trauma and airway management, resuscitation, perioperative medicine and risk assessment.
