I am a Consultant Anaesthetist at Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. I graduated with Distinction from Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ Medical School in 2007 and commenced practice in anaesthesia in 2010. My major clinical interests are regional anaesthesia, trauma management, neuroanaesthesia, total intravenous anaesthesia, airway management, perioperative medicine and risk assessment.

Scope of Practice

I am a Consultant Anaesthetist at Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. I graduated with Distinction from Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ Medical School in 2007 and commenced practice in anaesthesia in 2010. I undertook postgraduate training in anaesthesia in London and the South Coast before moving to Nottingham. I was awarded the MacIntosh Medal from the Royal College of Anaesthetists when I obtained Fellowship of the College in 2013.

I undertake regular clinical sessions in neuroanaesthesia, anaesthesia for emergency and trauma surgery, interventional radiology and hand surgery. I am an experienced teacher of ultrasound-guided regional anaesthetic techniques.

In addition to my regular clinical sessions above I provide flexible day-time cover for adult elective colorectal, hepato-biliary, upper gastrointestinal, vascular, urology and gynaecology surgery.

As part of my on-call duties I provide emergency care to critically ill patients requiring resuscitation, sedation or high acuity care around the hospital. My clinical training encompassed all anaesthetic subspecialties, although I no longer practice in cardiothoracic, obstetric or neonatal anaesthesia, chronic pain or intensive care medicine.

I am my departmental lead for Mortality and Morbidity review.
